Thousands of singers from around the world came together last week, virtually, to record and perform Patrick’s Quanta Qualia.

In July, The Self-Isolation Choirinvited Patrick to host a masterclass on Quanta Qualia as part of their virtual Summer School 2020.  The piece made such an impression on the singers that they decided to record the work as a gift to Patrick and his librettist brother Andrew.

At this time of self-isolation, when regular choir rehearsals and concerts have been postponed or cancelled, the choir loved the words by Andrew which seemed to perfectly capture the feeling in the current situation

O my soul
Wait!
O how great and how wonderful
the joys of meeting
will be.

Patrick and his brother were really touched by the choir’s gesture, their positivity and energy, saying, “Ben England [MD], Sophie Burrows [saxophone] and The Self-Isolation Choir did an absolutely brilliant job and we think the climax of the piece is the best we’ve ever heard it!  Congrats to you all and thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
